Katya's Orange County Senior Session

The first time I met Katya, she was about 11 years old.  My daughter, Lindsey, asked to have a few of her friends over -- to do what little girls do -- wear make-up, pretend they're teenagers and immerse themselves in pop music. I already knew some of my daughter's friends but I had never met Katya.  She seemed very sweet, quiet and shy, but easily fit in with the others. When it was time for the girls to leave, I said my goodbyes and gave each one a little hug.  Katya, however, wrapped her arms around me with the biggest, warmest hug ever!  I was so touched -- it was like she's always known me.

Fast forward 5 years -- to the present.  Her mom and I are now dear friends and Katya has become a big part of my life.  She's blossomed in many ways, but more than anything, she's become an amazing person -- full of sincerity, compassion and immense love for others, combined with an intelligence that thrives beyond her years.  She looks past the external appearance of others and instead peers deep to the inner person of the heart.

I am so honored to be a part of her life and was happy to capture these images of my dear friend Katya.

We enjoyed several locations for her senior session, with the first being a random field off the side of the road near my home in Rancho Santa Margarita.  We continued our drive to the nearby Trabuco Canyon, stopping at several spots along a windy road.  Our final destination was in Laguna Beach, where we walked along a private road, and then down hundreds of steps, leading to a beautiful, secluded spot on the beach!

It was perfect.

LOVE

Yesterday, my husband and I had a wonderful afternoon with our new clients, Michael & Jennifer on their Engagement Session.  We had delicious snacks together, laughed, told stories -- we really enjoyed their company, and seeing their interaction between each other.

After our session was over, and we said our goodbyes, I couldn't help but realize how fortunate I am to have my husband, Bryon, right there with me, being a part of this beautiful venture.  He is at every wedding and engagement session with me, working hard, as my assistant and second shooter---not because it's his dream, but because it's mine.  He has his own busy schedule -- running his own business, being an amazing father and husband, caring for his family, taking time out and helping others, starting another side business, and so much more.  Yet, he never complains. No matter how tired he is, or how much his back is hurting him -- he never, EVER, makes me feel like he doesn't want to be there for me, on the job, shooting weddings and engagements. He ceases to amaze me with his LOYAL LOVE and SUPPORT.

His desire to make me happy is the reason he gained his skills as an amazing assistant and second shooter.  I truly feel that if he wasn't in my life, I wouldn't be where I am today, especially as a photographer.

His desire to make me happy led him to obtain great photography skills in such a short period of time, and has become such a huge part in taking great care of our precious clients.  I truly feel that if he wasn't in my life, I wouldn't be where I am today, especially as a photographer.

Thank you so much.  I love you, Bubba.

Orange County E-Session - Holley & Richie

I was so very excited when Holley contacted me to shoot her wedding at the end of this year!  You see, I had already had the pleasure of documenting her brother's wedding last year in Temecula, and was so very honored that Holley & Richie loved the pictures so much that they wanted me to document their wedding also!   Here are some of my favorites from their engagement session, which also included their adorable Bailey!

Shoot and Share Contest - 1st Place

Shock.  Amazement.  Disbelief.  Squeels.  Excitement.  Happiness.  These are the words that pretty much described my feelings when I found out yesterday that my photo won First Place in the Shoot and Share Contest.  With 110,928 photos submitted in 21 categories, and 23,153,465 votes, I am SO INCREDIBLY HONORED for this amazing achievement.  This photo placed First in "Just the Groom" category.   I'm still amazed and in disbelief.  A HUGE thank you to the Shoot and Share Community of highly-esteemed and talented photographers who voted for this photo.  It is truly an honor.  Thank you so much!!
